I shall be good to my body this year.


One of my main goals for 2018 is to go back to being healthy and fit. In order to achieve this, I have chosen the SMART approach to enable me to achieve my goals easily and without pressure. I have also cut out sugar, alcohol, soft drinks and white bread completely. I could easily cut out these because I only have them occasionally anyway.

I aim to achieve 45 minutes to 1 hour of exercises 3 times per week, control my food portion, drink enough water and eat more fruits and vegetables. I shall commit to this plan for 3 months and then review.

I am aware that I may not get up 8 hours sleep most nights because of my work schedule ( evening commitments) but I aim to get up to 6 to 7 hours of sleep.

So let me tell you what I did today and will also be following a similar plan for the next couple of weeks.

Breakfast: A cup of coffee with honey and semi-skimmed milk. Fruits and vegetable blend. Kale, cucumber, spinach, apple and cranberries

It was so refreshing and filling. You can blend into a thicker smoothie which is more filling or lighter by adding more water.

Lunch: A bowl of salad with olive oil and sea salt dressings. A cup of tea with honey and semi-skimmed milk.

Mid-afternoon: I went to the gym and did 30 minutes of cardio and 20 minutes of weights.

Supper (before 6pm): A bowl of bacon and cheese pasta bake (yum)

Cup of tea and 2 tea cakes. I had to eat some tea cakes because they make me happy. They are also quite small (lol) and insanely delicious.

I have sorted my fruits and vegetables ready for daily blending.

So this is it! You can pick fruits and vegetables of your choice but I absolutely enjoyed this selection. I also add a teaspoonful of wheatgrass powder, maca and spirulina. This blend is refreshing and the fruits are medium to low glycemic index.

I haven’t bothered to weigh or measure myself. I just wanted to set a simple goal and keep it moving. You can weigh and measure yourself if you wish or use calorie tracker apps to monitor how much you are eating.
